The first ever post!

Today marks the day that my first proper blog begins. I say proper as I've been a slight tumblr obsessive for the past year or so, but recently, I've been inspired to join in with the big girls, aha.

Too many exciting things have happened today, that I decided they had to be documented. Firstly, my copy of Divergent by Veronica Roth arrived, a week after Insurgent (the 2nd book in the series) found it's way to my flat. Poor Insurgent has just been sat on my bookshelf, waiting to be read, but I couldn't bare to start it without reading Divergent first. I really really love dystopian/sci-fi fiction. In the past few weeks I've worked my way through the Hunger Games trilogy, Delirium, Slated and Dark Parties. Fabulous.

Secondly, I found out last night that I may finally, finally be able to afford a real, neo-blythe! I can't explain how excited I am. I tried to explain my excitement to my better half, but he doesn't quite seem to understand the affinity with these big eyed girls. I've found a very cheap Nicky Lad, that fingers crossed, I can convince my mother to pick up for me for my birthday, which is in August. I'll turn the ripe old age of nineteen,  and I can't think of anything better than cheeky Nicky coming to live with me here.

That Ben Sherman-esque polo and the grey socks! Wonderful stock

In the meantime, I've ordered myself a cheap Blybe from Thailand, who should hopefully arrive sometime next week. I know that the Blybe bodies aren't supposed to be great, but they do have a certain cuteness about them, and my affair with blythe has gone on for about four years so far, that I just have to get my hands on a doll which at least holds a likeness! My blybe has brown hair in tight ringlets, but due to that unsightly forehead seam, I've bought a black wavy wig with a thick fringe for her when she arrives. :)

Finally, the absolutely wonderful Emily, of Toy box Philosoper is sending me a slightly forlorn Pullip doll, for me to practise customising on! I just think it is the sweetest gesture, particularly because I've been hankering after all these dolls from afar for ages, never quite having the money to buy them (I blame University!), and now the kindness of one lovely lady from Maine means I'm one step closer to my goal!
