An attempt at an OOAK custom Bratz...

Fairly recently I discovered the world of OOAK, and all the incredible customisers who create beautiful art, turning (the already beautiful) Blythe dolls into mesmerising things. All of the inspiration got me over-excited, so I decided to jump in, and attempt my own. I'm not a patient person, so I went on the hunt immediately. I scoured the charity shops for some cheap dollies to practice on and managed to find some Bratz dolls for 10p each. I don't really like the look of them, personally. Their lips are too big, and their make up is too garish. But I picked up a Cloe doll, and set to work on her.
Before, she looked a little like this :

My Cloe however, was battered. Really battered. Her hair was a matted mess, her body was covered in stains.
First, I removed most of her make up, using Nail Varnish remover and a sanding sponge. I sanded my lips down so they were a bit smaller.
Then I boiled her hair. It took me about three attempts to do this - so much of her hair just fell out whenever I brushed it. Eventually I held her upside down in the sink and poured the kettle over her hair. Be careful with this though, as it can damage the vinyl.
After that, I managed to remove her head after heating it up with a hair dryer - that thing did not want to come off!

I then gave her a face up, added synthetic dreads to her hair and created a kinf of up-do...here she is:

As you can tell, her white face paint isn't great, I do like her hair though.

Synthetic dreads, ribbon and plaits all pinned in place with little flowers

Here's her face paint - I wanted a geisha look. It's not too neat though.
The flowers in her hair have swarvoski crystals in.

I know it's blurry but you can see her eye make up and more hair here.

Overall, I know  she could be much better. I'm proud of her hair though, I think the flowers are a nice touch, and I feel the make-up is a good nod towards the Geisha look. I was inspired by the Geisha Blythes that star in the back of Gina Garan's book. The eyebrows on Cloe look pretty neat and nice, but the rest of the make up is kind of a failure - interesting enough, but not professional. I don't know whether it's worth attempting to sell her off on ebay for really cheap..£4?
Any tips would be great!
